Mohabbat ka bas itna fasana hai
Kaghaz ki haveli hai barish ka zamana hai.
An innocent love has just that story of pain.
A mansion of paper in the time of rain.
Kya Rasm-e-Mohabbat hai kya Shart-e-Zamana hai,
Awaaz bhi zakhmi hai aur Geet bhi gaana Hai.
What a ritual of love, what a condition of this age
Wounded voice and yet sing-song to stage.
Toota hua Dil apna yoon unko dikhana hai
Bheegi ankhoun se ek shair sunana hai.
In this way, show my broken heart to her,
To recite a couplet with wet eyes to her.
Us paar utarnay ki ummeed bohat kam hai
Kashti bhi puraani hai aur toofan ko bhi aana hai.
Dimmed hopes to land across
Ship is old, storm is yet to surpass.
Samjhay ya na samjhay wo andaaz e Mohabbat ka
Ek shakhs ko aankhoun se ek shair sunana hai.
He may understand or not this gesture of love.
To the one, one needs to recite a couplet of eyeful verse.
Yeh Ishq nahi asaan bas itna samajh lijiye,
Ek aag ka dariya hai aur doob kar Jana Hai.
